Last night, I attended the U.S. Open, courtesy of Nicole who was actually successful in procuring tickets at a reasonable price (an increasingly difficult task, thanks to scalpers).
Sigh. The Olympics have once again come and gone. Of course, the flame will always burn bright in my otherwise empty heart—and yeah, I’ve somewhat scoffed at the last few days of competition besides the major track and field stuff—but now I have to find other stuff to watch on TV.
Still, here are some of my favorite items of the past few days:
All the sexy events are over. Sniff. No more gymnastics, swimming, or beach volleyball. Even Today, the Olympics’ biggest cheerleader, is already doing recap shows (even though the Games aren’t over) and making their correspondents do stereotypically Brazilian things in anticipation for Rio. Is it terrible that I don’t mind? (Plus, I’d rather watch Matt and Al do the samba than sit through another Jenna Bush piece.)
Anyway, here are the biggest things that have happened in the last two days…
Those evil geniuses at Pixar. With the announcement that their new Toy Story short Partysaurus Rex will accompany next month’s release of Finding Nemo 3D, they’ve all but guaranteed $20 of my money on September 14.
REX IS WEARING A TUTU! Or a scrunchie. I don’t know but it’s already the cutest thing I’ve seen all day.
